SCHLATER — Graveside services for Walter Sanders, 71, of Schlater, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Mount Galilee Church Cemetery, Ruleville, with Bishop Rufus Cannon officiating. He died Sept. 27, 2020, at North Sunflower Medical Center, Ruleville. Services are under the direction of Dillon Funeral Home, Indianola.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Sanders, of Drew; a son, Walter Herring, of Cleveland; four daughters, Vishune Harris, of Minter City, Saytonya Bolton, of Hattiesburg, Khambrya Stanley, of Greenwood, and Lachandra Sanders, of Drew; four brothers, Johnny Cannon, of Tutwiler, Robert Sanders, of Sunnyside, Rufus Cannon, of Ruleville, and Eugene Cannon, of Drew; and five sisters, Laura Whitehead, of Ruleville, Mary Bryant, of East St. Louis, Betty Johnson, of Chicago, Mary Frances Bell, of Detroit, and Mamie Barnes, of Fort Wayne, IN.
With observance of the CDC guidelines for COVID-19, there will be a walkthrough visitation from 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at New Bethlehem Church, Doddsville.
