The percent of the voting age population in Washington County registered to vote is more than 90 percent.
Voter registration in county is high

The estimated voting age population of Washington County in September was 34,346 people.

Of those, 32,061 or 93.347% are registered to vote.

While the registration number was high, counting absentee ballots, about 17,000 people voted in the presidential election on Tuesday.

The man lift is there for an inspection that occurs every two years. The inspection is to track changes in the bridge.

Monuments on Main Street cemetery tours begin Friday

This year’s revival of Monuments on Main Street will be this weekend, Oct. 16-18, with cemetery tours starting at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The last tour each day will also include additional information about the history of the cemetery along with the six performances of characters from Greenville’s history.
