Main Street Greenville is proud to announce that Grammy Award-winning blues rock band Blues Traveler will headline the 14th Annual Delta Hot Tamale Festival, set for the third weekend in October. With more than 30,000 people expected to attend, the festival continues to be one of the South’s most anticipated fall celebrations of food, music, and Delta culture.
The 2025 festivities will kick off with the Welcome Dinner on Thursday, October 16, followed by Food Truck Friday and the popular Friday Night Block Party featuring live music all day long. The main festival day will take place on Saturday, October 18, with Blues Traveler taking center stage that evening. A full festival lineup will be released by the end of the month.
"We are thrilled to welcome a band of Blues Traveler’s caliber to Greenville," said Daniel Boggs, CEO of Greater Greenville. "Their music is legendary and will bring even more energy to what has become a beloved tradition here in the Delta. This year’s festival is shaping up to be one of the best yet."
Blues Traveler emerged in the late 1980s from a basement in Princeton, New Jersey, and has since become a cornerstone of American rock music. With over 10 million albums sold, 14 studio releases, and more than 2,000 live performances, the band is known for its signature blend of bluesy rock and improvisational jams. Their 1995 hit “Run-Around” earned them a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and remains the longest-charting radio single in Billboard history. Blues Traveler’s most recent album, Traveler’s Blues, was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Traditional Blues Album category.
The Delta Hot Tamale Festival has welcomed visitors from more than 19 states and continues to grow in scope and impact each year. Organized by Main Street Greenville, a subsidiary of the Greater Greenville Development Foundation, the festival highlights the Delta’s favorite delicacy, the Delta-style tamale, music inspired by the regions, and creativity of the Mississippi Delta.
Armbands for the 2025 Delta Hot Tamale Festival will go on sale later this year. For updates, visit www.mainstreetgreenville.com and follow Delta Hot Tamale Festival on social media.
