Meet the Staff:

Jon Alverson, editor/publisher


Jon Alverson has been the publisher and editor of the Delta Democrat-Times since 2013. He is a native of Alabama and graduated from the University of Florida. His more-than 20-year career has spanned several states and weekly and daily newspapers. He and his wife Holly have three children Walker, Shel and Canon. He is a hunter, fisherman, missionary, community theatre participant and beer connoisseur. They are members of Greenville First Presbyterian Church. He is also a member of Greenville Rotary and the Greenville Arts Council.

Catherine Kirk, managing editor


Catherine Kirk is managing editor of the Delta Democrat-Times and is a Greenville native. A graduate of both Greenville High School and Delta State University, Kirk has worked for the newspaper since 2015. She is an award-winning journalist, receiving numerous awards from the Mississippi Press Association's Better Newspaper Contest since the start of her career. She and her husband, Chris, have two children, Conner and Laura. They attend South Main Church of Christ. She also serves on the Allocations Committee for the United Way of Washington County.

LeAnne Hughes, production manager


LeAnne Hughes is the graphic artist in the production/ pre-press department of the Delta Democrat-Times. She has a daughter and another one on the way with her husband Jeremy. They are members of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Greenville. LeAnne graduated from Delta State University in 2004 with a BFA in Graphic Design. She has been with the Delta Democrat-Times since December of 2004.

Tina Hale, bookkepper


Tina Hale has been the Bookkeeper at the Delta Democrat Times since 2012.  She is formerly from the Tupelo/Fulton area and has been a resident of Greenville since 1990.
