Officers with the Greenville Police Department are searching for the person who shot a man in the face and left him to die.
At 6:21 a.m. this morning, police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of North Theobald Street, where they found a 20-year-old black male with blood on his face.
The victim, who has been identified as Mario Kimble Jr., was pronounced dead on scene by the Washington County coroner.
Assistant Police Chief Michael Merchant said preliminary evidence shows Kimble was shot in the face.
“Investigators of the Greenville Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division are actively following up on leads to this investigation. At this time no arrests have been made,” Merchant said.
The Greenville Police Department is actively attempting to identify anyone who may be involved in this incident.
