In the Washington County Primaries, there were no upsets of sitting elected officials. Incumbent, and unopposed Circuit Clerk Barbara Esters-Parker garnered the highest vote total of 5,066. The largest margin in a contested race went to Sheriff Milton Gaston at 4,488 votes or 83.42%.
Of the 31,710 registered voters in Washington County, 7,330 cast votes for a turnout of 23.21%. These results do not include absentee or affidavit votes.
The general election is set to take place Nov. 5.
In Washington County Democratic parties:
District 1 Supervisor
Mark Crawford with 641 votes, or 75.41%, defeated David Morgan with 207 votes.
District 2 Supervisor
Incumbent Tommy Benson with 815 votes, or 69.24%, defeated Jacqueline McCoy, 225 votes, and D. Redmond-Williams with 133 votes.
District 3 Supervisor
Incumbent Carl McGee with 738 votes, or 60.20%, defeated Troy Wesley, 488 votes.
District 4 Supervisor
Mala U Brooks with 479 votes, or 46.8%, defeated Charles Peterson, 220 votes; Benjamin Thompson, 134 votes; D’Andre Williams, 110 votes; and Sherman Harris, with 77 votes.
District 5 Supervisor
Incumbent Jerry Redmond was unopposed with 955 votes.
District 1 Justice Court Judge
Incumbent Laverne Holmes Carter won with 990 votes, or 67.81%, over Tonya Powell Franklin with 469 votes.
District 3 Justice Court Judge
Incumbent Cedric Bush won with 1,290 votes, or 62.2%, over Ashley Harris with 783 votes.

Nathaniel Watkins was uncontested with 1,340 votes.
