SUNFLOWER — Funeral services for Christeen Steele, 81, of Sunflower, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at St. Luke COGIC, Moorhead, with Elder Ezra Howard officiating. She died Aug. 21, 2022. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Hayes Chapel at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola. The body will lie in state from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 27, at St. Luke COGIC, Moorhead. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Gardens, Indianola, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Steele Sr.; sons, Gary Jr. and Thomas Steele; daughters, Mary J. Brown, Mary A. Hoggett, Dorothy A. Craft, Lula M. Stone, Carolyn O. Johnson, Tina L. Steele, and Toinek D. Beckworth; brothers, Charles, Dan, Jimmy, TJ and Tommy Fairley; sisters, Karen Owens, Catherine Baldwin, Mary S. Jones, and Betty Fairley; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
