Greenville, Mississippi, Jan. 30, 2024, The Greenville Mississippi Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. announced that it will host the 2024 Mississippi Caucus of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
This event starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at Harlow’s Casino Resort and Spa Event Center.
Located at 4280 Harlows Blvd, Greenville, Mississippi 38701.
The Mississippi Caucus of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is celebrating its seventieth anniversary of the Greenville Mississippi Alumni Chapter.
The Greenville Mississippi Alumni Chapter was organized in the home of the late Dr. and Mrs.
Charles E. Holmes.
The Chapter was chartered on Feb. 14, 1954, B.L. Bell became the first polemarch of the Greenville Alumni Chapter, amidst the stormy climate of the turbulent 1950s.
The chartering members were G.P. Maddox, B.L. Bell, Dr. Charles E. Holmes, Ray Brooks, A.C. Isaac, Robert Hall, Dr. Henry St. Hille, Sunny Kyles, and Dr. Arthur B. Peyton, Sr.
In its efforts to expand its service to the community, the Greenville Alumni Chapter hosts various community development projects, sponsored football bowl games, high school Greek shows, all-star basketball games, Miss Kappa Alpha Psi pageants, and the Arthur B. Peyton golf tournament, the Greenville Chapter also hosts voter registration and engagement events,
participates in the UnitedWay housing initiative, they pioneered the inaugural All-White and Jean
social events initiated New Year with the Nupes and provided countless scholarships to both
males and females, and has been a source of inspiration to the Mississippi Delta at large.
The event will include great Kappa leaders, the thirteenth President of Jackson State University, Dr. Marcus Thompson, as the keynote speaker, with very special remarks from special guests, Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (serving the 8th Congressional District of New York) and our Congressman, Ranking Member of United States House on Homeland Security and Laurel Wreath Awardee, Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (serving the 2nd Congressional District of Mississippi).
Polemarch W. Dewayne Richardson said, “We look forward to welcoming Kappa brothers around the state to Greenville for this momentous occasion with a theme of 70 Years of Achievement and Building, The Journey Continues.”
“To celebrate seventy years, the Chapter has a goal to raise funds for our Scholarship Fund that
supports scholarships to both males and females in local area high schools.” Said Errick D. Simmons, the seventieth Anniversary Founders’ Day Chairman,
“We ask our churches, businesses, and civic and social organizations to consider sponsorships for this event.”
Eddie C. Brown the 2024 Mississippi Caucus Host Chairman said, “This year’s celebration commemorates all of our Fraternity Founders as well as our Greenville Mississippi Alumni Charter Members, the late G.P. Maddox, the late B.L. Bell, the late Dr. Charles E. Holmes, the late Ray Brooks, the late A.C. Isaac, the late Robert Hall, the late Dr. Henry St. Hille, the late Sunny Kyles, and the late Dr. Arthur B. Peyton.”
