On July 13th, 2024, a shocking but a predictable incident happened. Former President D. J. Trump was shot on the stage in the middle of a rally in the state of Pennsylvania. He was shot in front of a MAGA audience and the scene was watched by the whole world through media. I do not need to mention about the details of the assassination attempt, but I would like to share my thought:“Was it good luck or a miracle from God’s intervention?” and “How is it possible it happened?”
I am a Christian, yet for a few days after the incident I was wondering “Was it good luck or a miracle?’’ When something amazing happens, Christians say that it was a miracle or a blessing from God. On the other hand, non-Christians interpret it as good luck. The dictionary says good luck happens by chance but a miracle comes from God’s intervention.
According to my experience, God takes care of those people who fight for His righteousness and His truth more than anybody. Some people say that we don’t know if Trump is a born again Christian. It is not our business to judge him, it is a matter between God and Trump. We don’t know if Trump has been fighting for this country and its people because of God’s righteousness. But what he had been doing pleased God. God uses anybody for His purpose like he used King Cyrus of Persia. Cyrus was, of cause, a pagan but God used him to bring the Israelites back from Babylon exile to Israel. And the Bible mentioned about Cyrus in the book of Isaiah, a long time before the exile. I see some hope through July 13th that God is still not giving up on this country.
Secondly God blesses those who love their neighbors. Trump sacrificed his personal life of peace and happiness for this country. He showed how much he cared about his people by raising his fist up high so people could see he was OK. How many men can think about other people and can try to comfort and encourage others in that situation? That behavior came out of his “Love of neighbors” spirit. How many of us have the wealth, good children and promised lavish retirement life like him? He is almost 80, and he has been sacrificing his comfortable retirement with his beautiful family.
There are quite a number of people who say, “I don’t like Trump, I don’t like his personality and the way he talks.” I hope they rather think this way because of his strong personality, he fights for this country and our children's future. The Bible says that a good tree bears good fruits, also good fruits come out of good trees. He has five children who have been standing by their father’s side through all these stressful years. How many fathers can have that blessing? Please look back at the children of past presidents. I don’t want to disgrace them so I am not going to mention about their children, but you can find out the answer easily.
The assassination attempt which could have been a tragedy was turned into a big blessing by God. With a smallest wound He created a biggest blessing, which only God can do. The picture happened to be taken by an award winning cameraman showed who Trump really is. Trump has been brutally attacked and falsely painted as a Nazi, a racist, a misogynist and the one who will destroy Democracy. I wonder what kind of Democracy they are talking about. Because of the media which has lost their original mission, he has been misunderstood by many people. I am a minority woman but I could recognize who he is from the beginning.
Another big blessing was the unifying of the RNC through the convention which we had never seen. We saw the unity which might have been impossible humanly before.
The incompetence of the Secret Service, FBI and the local police is out of common sense. Who knows if God blinded them. Proverbs 19:21 “There are many plans in a person’s mind, but it is the counsel of the Lord which will stand.” When we can’t understand something or it doesn’t make sense with our common sense, there is either God’s or Satan’s hands in the situation. By my experience I had gotten to know that God can create an amazing miracle, a masterpiece, out of shattered pieces.
Many people seem not to know where this country is heading. Our freedom of speech, the right of having personal assets and the equal opportunity for every citizen, which are the assets, energy and the way to the middle class, are at the edge of a cliff. One more push will end it. Trump and JD Vance are holding the life rope from falling down. It is not the matter of conservatives or liberals. It is the matter of our children's future. Do you want your children in this country with an open border? If you have plenty of love and sympathy to the illegal immigrants please open your living room to show your kindness for them first. Do you want your children in this country of equal opportunity to be denied or manipulated? I am an Asian immigrant who came to this country with two suitcases. I have become a member of the middle class because of the equal opportunity, freedom to choose the business and hard work with all its responsibility. Nowadays there is almost no color discrimination but there is only an attitude discrimination. My clients appreciate my business and service, and I don’t feel any color discrimination.
After your parents pass away, if you want to treat them with a million dollars, it is too late and no use. You have to live with a regret for the rest of your life. The Bible tells us this: Ephesian 6:2-3 “Honor your father and mother’’which is the first commandment accompanied by a promise namely,”That it may go well with you and that you will live a long time on the earth.”
In the same way, while our free democracy is in our hands, let us do our best to support the election. The election’s warfare is money. Do you know this? Spreading lies through media costs money, but erasing lies cost five times or 10 times more and unlimited time.
It doesn’t matter if you are white, black or other minorities. If you care about your children’s future of well being and their freedom, please think seriously about this and make a commitment before it is too late.
