Mayor Errick D. Simmons Invites the Public to the City of Greenville Brownfield Program Community Meeting on Monday, April 29. 2024.
Residents, businesses, and all community stakeholders are encouraged to attend this meeting as the City shares its Brownfield Economic Development Opportunity District Plan.
“The EDOD Plan was created through strategic partnership and collaboration with the community, county, state, and federal partners, regional economic development partners, business, faith-based, non-profit, and philanthropic stakeholders coming together in a ‘we are one’ fashion to move the needle on equitable economic development for the City of Greenville,” Simmons said, “Throughout the development and implementation of this plan, it is the desire of the City of Greenville to continue great collaboration with our community partners now and into the future. The City’s goal is to continue economic development for all, by assisting with the ability to make sites available for redevelopment.”
The Mayor went on to say the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfield Community-wide Assessment Grant is a valuable tool the city has and hopes to continue leveraging to assist with this important work for not only economic development. but also for the health, safety, and welfare of all citizens of Greenville.
