Around 10 p.m. on Monday, the Greenville Police Department responded to a shooting near Highway 82 and Cedar Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that two victims had already been transported to Delta Health Systems by private vehicle. The victims have been identified as Carlton Thomas, 32, and Patrick Thomas, 25, both of Greenville.
Carlton Thomas sustained a gunshot wound to the back and later died from his injuries.
Patrick Thomas, who was shot in the leg, is currently receiving treatment at another facility.
Detectives are actively investigating the incident, and an arrest is expected soon.
