Greenville Jan. 27, 2024, Marvin Elder was elected as the board president for the 100 Men of the Mississippi Delta Inc. on Saturday, Elder, who is Ward 4 Alderman for Indianola, Mississippi, as well as a resident said, “Our current officers are, Myself, Vice-President Jimmy Ford, Secretary Adrian Brown, Asst Secretary Alsee McDaniel, Treasurer Daryl Richards, Asst Treasurer Marvin Minor, Chaplain David Stevenson, Asst Chaplain Albert Calvin Jr.” Elder said,
“Board members include, myself, Al Rankins, Arthur Colbert, Charles Hardy, Wardell Walton, Booker Clay, and Willie Griffin.”
President of the Board of Supervisors Carl McGee, Former 100 Men President Charles Hardy, the Washington County Tax Assessor Mark Saerd, new Chaplain David Stevenson and many others came out to congratulate Elder.
“Some upcoming projects for the new year include continued mentoring activities with students in schools in the Delta, the Greenville community housing initiative, and of course our Annual Scholarship Banquet in June.” President Elder said, “I am currently in my 2nd term as Alderman of Ward 4 in Indianola, I am CEO of Elder’s Investigations and Process Server, I am a Certified Municipal Official through Mississippi Municipal League, where I am a member of the Board of Directors.”
Elder is also a member of the Mississippi Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials, an Associate member of Dorothy I Height Quad Counties Section of the National Council of Negro Women, a member of many more organizations throughout Mississippi, and a Deacon and Member of New Green Grove Church of Faith of Greenwood.
Elder said, “We the members of the 100 Black Men of The Mississippi Delta, Inc. will continue efforts in showing leadership, and commitment to the communities by partnering with supporters that have the same goal and vision as the 100 Black Men of The Mississippi Delta, Inc.”
