On Sunday April 30 at 2 p.m. Delta Grounds Building owner, Ebony Williams will unveil a concept that has been talked about for years in Greenville but never fully realized. An open house and walk through of her newly purchased 124 South Broadway building is designed to make local entrepreneurs aware that office space for their businesses is available at affordable prices. “The location is the old South Delta (Planning and Development District) building and most people probably remember it from that,” Williams said. “We will be serving light refreshments, wine, and cheese, cookies, chips and dips as we provide a tour of the building to show entrepreneurs what’s available for their businesses.”
Williams purchased the building in January and has worked diligently to create a location that can serve a range of purposes from business incubator to permanent office site. There are 18 office suites total in the building and a couple of spaces have already been rented from businesses that do podcasts, beautician services and seamstress work. “ This will be an opportunity also for the businesses already in the building to market themselves to visitors and guests. There are suites of different sizes which range in price from $425 a month to $550 per month,” Williams said. “Each office has its own electricity and I do advise business owners to obtain their own Internet services. Leases are for either six or twelve months.”
In addition to low cost office space rental, Delta Grounds will also provide a conference room that carries a charge of $50 for the first hour and $25 per additional hour. For business owners who travel into town for temporary assignments, Williams will also have a portion of the facility set aside for what she calls “a travel spot.”
Once Delta Grounds is established as a solid sustainable business, Williams said that she has plans to turn the spacious parking lot around the facility into a permanent location for food truck vendors to sell their products. The open house set for Sunday is scheduled to end at 5 p.m.
