Officers with the Greenville Police Department are investigating the shooting of a man Thursday afternoon along Washington Avenue.
At about 1:20 p.m. Thursday, GPD officers were advised of a possible shot person in the 900 block of South Washington Avenue.
Once on scene, officers discovered a male with gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported by Pafford EMS to Delta Health System - The Medical Center and flown to Tupelo Medical Center to receive further treatment.
Assistant police chief Kenneth Redfield said there is no suspect in custody at this time, but there are people of interest.
The investigation is pending.
