A teenager who was shot Thursday afternoon is now in recovery, but Greenville police are still searching for the person who pulled the trigger.
At 3:30 p.m. Thursday, officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to Delta Health-The Medical Center in reference to a shot person.
The victim, a 17-year-old black male whose name is not being released, appeared to have been shot in the lower back, according to assistant police chief Michael Merchant.
“The victim was immediately flown out to an area hospital, where he is being treated,” Merchant said.
His condition was listed as stable as of Thursday evening.
This case is under investigation, Merchant said, noting they do not know where he was shot or who shot him.
“We will release more information as it becomes available,” he said.
