One man has died from shooting injuries after what local police say they believe was a domestic dispute that turned deadly.
Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched at 4:41 p.m. Thursday to 568 JoAnn Circle for a shot person, said Assistant Greenville Police Chief Michael Merchant.
The shot person was identified as 29-year-old black male Arusher Sturdevant, who was immediately taken to the hospital, where he died.
“Emergency medical personnel was also dispatched and the victim was transported to Delta Health System, where he succumbed to his injuries,” Merchant said.
The preliminary investigation reveals the incident may have been over a domestic dispute, Merchant said, noting investigators with the Criminal Investigation Unit are actively following up.
“Due to the domestic possibility, we will be investigating it from that aspect,” Merchant said, noting they are not giving any suspect names at this time.
