GREENVILLE, Mississippi - Ernest “Leroy” Baker, 84, of Greenville, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2025
Visitation will be Saturday, August 23, at 1 p.m., with services at 2 p.m., at Morrison Chapel Baptist Church in Cleveland
He was born September 19, 1940, in Benoit to Brady Elmo and Bernice Tidwell Baker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Baker, and siblings J.R. Baker, Harold Baker, Jimmy Baker, and Arlene Dobbins Brown.
Leroy is survived by his daughter, Kellye Baker Lanford (Scott); three granddaughters, Amber Yates (Jeremy), Whitney Lambert (Benjamin), and Casey Crocker (Seth Jr.); and five great-grandchildren.
He worked many years as a truck driver and as President of Greenville Head and Block before owning Maytag Home Appliance Center in Cleveland. He enjoyed racing, golf, and family game nights, and was known for his strong will, humor, and love for family.
