Ethel “Kris” Henley
DUCK HILL — Funeral services for Ethel Christia “Kris” Henley, 73, of Duck Hill, were held Friday, Nov. 25, at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada, with Bro. Ken Salley officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Grenada. Arrangements were under the direction of Mortimer National Funeral Home, Grenada.
Kris passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 3, 1949, in Osaka, Japan, and was the daughter of the late Samuel Henry Chewning and Louise Willie Smoke Chewning.
Kris was employed in the service industry and retired from Walmart. She was a member of the Elliott Church of Christ.
Kris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Harvey Henley; one son, Chester Henley; two brothers, Billy Smoke and Samuel Mark Chewning; one sister, Donna Louviere; one daughter-in-law, Gail Floyd; and one nephew, Chris Watkins.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen Floyd, of Grenada, and Phil Floyd (Terry), of Duck Hill; two daughters, Angie Smith (Jody), of Grenada, and Lynn Wright, of Tennessee; two sisters, Becky Spatrisano (Bill) and Reba Floyd Gann; one brother, Daniel Chewning (Beverly); 11 grandchildren, Amber Smith, Danielle Floyd, Bryce Smith, Phillip Floyd, Colby Hipp, Heather Rush, Melody Wright, Rachel Hovas, Karen Hume, Brian Henley, and Brandi Henley; and several great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital.
