INDIANOLA, Mississippi – Funeral services for Evelyn Blockson, 66, of Indianola, will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Arria M.B. Church. Visitation will be Friday, October 31, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rev. Earl Reed.
She died October 18, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born May 27, 1959.
She is survived by three sons, Stevie Blockson, Alfrico “Chico” Potts and Brandon Blockson, all of Indianola; one daughter, Tiffany Blockson of Memphis, Tennessee; brothers, Moses Blockson Jr., Lemuel Blockson, Michael Blockson, Christopher Baker, Clarence Baker, Harvey Baker III and Lee Baker; sisters, Joann Turner, Sharon Sample, Rhonda Fowler, Tonya Blockson, Pauline Rogers, Willie Mae Steen, Ruthie Mae Baker, Shirley Baker and Sherry Ann Baker; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
