ARCOLA, Mississippi - Funeral services for Evelyn Dowe Nunnery, 81, of Arcola were at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home in Greenville. There was a visitation from 1 p.m. until service time on Monday. She passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Burial was in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born in 1943 in Greenville. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1961. In 1963 she married Buell Mann Nunnery Jr., and they raised their 3 children in Greenville.
She worked in the banking industry for over 40 years before retiring from AmSouth Bank. She and Buell contributed their time and resources to the Mississippi Fire Fighters Association. She was a long-time member of the Greenville Yacht Club. She enjoyed playing cards with the “Blue Haired Ladies.”
She is preceded in death by her father Willie “Dub” Dowe, mother Katherine Dowe, father-in-law Buell Nunnery Sr., mother-in-law Monnie T. Mosely Nunnery, sister-in-law Bettye Jo Gilbert, and daughter Deidre Nunnery Ross.
She is Survived by her husband Buell Mann Nunnery Jr. of Arcola, MS, 2 sons, Buell “Mann” Nunnery III (Lori) of Springdale, AR, Justin Wade Nunnery (Angelique) of Mountain Home, AR, 7 Grand Children Tripp Ross (Abby) of Florence, MS, Taylor Ross Ray (Cliff) of Greenville, MS, Timothy “Dylan” Ross (Ashley) of Greenville, MS, Conner Nunnery Meeks (Jared) of Lucedale, MS, Carder Lee Nunnery of Lucedale, MS, Sarah Brooke Boyette of Sulphur, LA, Cody Wayne Nunnery of Water Valley, MS. 8 great-grandchildren 3 step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers to serve will be John Lundy, Bill Lundy, Jared Meeks, Dylan Ross, Carder Nunnery, Cody Nunnery.
