Greenville police are searching for the person responsible for a man who was found shot and killed in an apartment.
At 1:35 a.m. Monday at Nottingham Apartments in the 1600 block of South Beauchamp Avenue, the Greenville Police Department received a call about a shot person.
Assistant Police Chief Michael Merchant said officers found a black male who had been shot several times inside an apartment, but it is unclear whose apartment it is.
The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Cedric Johnson.
“Emergency medical personnel responded as well as the Washington County Coroner,” Merchant said, noting Johnson was pronounced dead on scene.
“Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division also responded and began actively following up on all leads,” he said.
There is no suspect information and a motive has not been determined.
