Per county engineer Lorenzo Anderson, the Sandifer Road Bridge’s plans are finalized and construction is 70% into completion.
The project had been delayed because of weather and scheduling but has now resumed. In addition, a bridge cap beneath the bridge had to be removed due to a slight fracture.
Anderson informed the Washington County Board of Supervisors of the progress during their regular Monday meeting along with a status report of other items and services.
Other bridges currently under construction are those located on Bassi, Wilmont and Napanee roads. On Wilmont and Napanee bridges, “Plans are complete. BOS approved the quotes to start construction scheduled near the end of January,” Anderson reported.
Anderson also reported the recommendation of repairing the east and west decking structure with the facade in the front of the Kermit The Frog Museum and is awaiting a scope of work as defined by the BOS.
According to the status report, IMS is working on an expandable walkway design.
