Summer is just around the corner, and the scorching hot temps are already in the Delta. For those eager to beat the heat, here are the area swimming pools folks can check out.
Hodding Carter Memorial YMCA
Folks are making a splash at the Hodding Carter Memorial YMCA, 1688 Fairground Road.
Day, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly pool passes are available for non-members to purchase. There are also a variety of regular memberships, which all have access to the Y’s pool.
Private and youth swim lessons are also available.
A variety of youth swim lessons for children ages 3-12 are offered in 30-minute sessions Monday through Thursday and cost $30 for Y members and $40 for non-members.

Pool parties for up to 25 children ages 2-15 cost $100 for Y-members and $125 for non-members can be booked by calling the Y’s front desk.

Bobby Henry Memorial Pool
The Bobby Henry Memorial Pool, 400 E. Robertshaw St., is expected to open June 7.
Regular swim hours will be from 1-6 p.m. daily. Admission will be $1 for children 15 and younger; and $2 for all others. The pool will close sometime in August.
Swimming lessons will be offered from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and lessons are free. Private lessons will also be offered for $5 per session from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Thursday.
Harrison-Newman Memorial Pool
The Harrison-Newman Memorial Pool, located on School Park Drive in Leland, will open Saturday, June 1.
Swim hours will be from 1-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Evening swimming will be available from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Entry costs $1 per person.
Swimming lessons will be offered from 9-11 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and the only fee to participate is the $1 admission fee.

Deer Creek Town & Racquet Club
The swimming pool at the Deer Creek Town & Racquet Club, 500 Racquet Club Road, is open now to members-only through Labor Day.
A pool membership costs $300, and pool hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
Private swimming lessons are fully booked, but there are still slots available for children ages 5-18 take morning swimming lessons through the Delta Aquatics Club.

Greenville Golf & Country Club
The swimming pool at the Greenville Golf & Country Club, 2476 Mississippi 1, is now open to members only until Labor Day.
Any level of membership folks want to sign up for — golf, social or junior — all include access to the pool.
Pool hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Although the country club does not offer swimming lessons, their lifeguards can give private lessons upon request.

Cypress Hills Tennis Club
The swimming pool at the Cypress Hills Tennis Club, 1440 Oakwood Dr., is now open to members only.
Pool hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday and Monday until Labor Day weekend. The lifeguard on-duty can teach private swimming lessons upon request.

Lake Chicot State Park
Folks are welcome to swim at the swimming pool at Lake Chicot State Park, 2542 Hwy. 257, Lake Village, Ark., now until Labor Day.
Cabin guests receive free pool admission. For outside visitors, pool admission is $4 per person 6 years and older; $3 for children 2-5; and babies 1 and under swim free. A 20-admission pool pass is also available for $70.
