A reception for Mississippi artists participating in Greenville Arts Council’s Biennial Invitational Art Exhibit will be Friday at 5:30 p.m. The exhibit, which features artists native to or living in the state, from April 22 to June 28.
On display are a variety of media which showcase a variety of Mississippi artists, who were invited to participate.
The juror selecting what artwork showcased in the exhibit is Randy Jolly, professor and director for the Samuel Marshall Gore Art Gallery at Mississippi college.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been to an art show like this before so I am elated to have the chance to experience it here,” said Benjamin Luckett, Programs and arts in education coordinator at GAC.
There will be food as well as an open bar.
Five $100 merit awards will be given, as well as two $500 purchase awards and one $1,000 best-of-show purchase award.
