Greenville police are searching for the person responsible for the death of a man whose body was found lying on a curbside this morning.
Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched shortly after 6:15 a.m. this morning to the 600 block of East Walker Street.
“Upon arrival, officers located a black male on the curb in the area,” Assistant Police Chief Michael Merchant said.
The man was identified as a 39-year-old. His name is not being released at this time pending family notification, Merchant said.
Emergency medical personnel and the Washington County Coroner arrived to the scene, where the man was pronounced dead on scene.
“This case is an active investigation at this time,” Merchant said, noting investigators with GPD’s Criminal Investigation Division are currently following up on all leads.
