LELAND — A Sunflower County resident is behind bars after being arrested by Leland police for stealing from a local resident’s yard.
Officers with the Leland Police Department arrested 30-year-old Danny Horne on Monday for his involvement with stealing out of Leland residents’ yards, where he had been caught on surveillance camera.
Officers with the Leland Police Department posted pictures Nov. 15 to their Facebook page with images from the surveillance camera, showing Horne pulling into the driveway in a black Ford pickup truck with a red hood and stealing items.
After a tip from an unknown source, Assistant Police Chief Marcus Davis said they picked up Horne in Boyle and transported him to the Leland Police Department for questioning.
“We arrested him at the Leland Police Department after questioning,” Davis said, noting he was charged with Possession of Stolen Property.
Horne didn’t stay in jail with LPD for long.
The same day, officers with the Sunflower County Sheriff’s Office picked up Horne for felony warrants. As of Tuesday afternoon, he was still in Sunflower County Jail.
