The 96th Annual Convention of The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc. (GCM) convened in Grenada during the week of April 7, 2025. This gathering attracted over 200 members from affiliated garden clubs across the state, underscoring the organization's enduring commitment to beautification, conservation, and education.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of awards recognizing outstanding achievements by local clubs and individual members. These accolades celebrated exemplary projects in community beautification, youth engagement, and environmental conservation, reflecting the organization's dedication to fostering positive change throughout Mississippi.
The Alice Bell Garden Club of Greenville was recognized with the following awards: Yearbook Award, Second Place; Garden Therapy Award, Second Place; Church Gardens Award, Second Place; Gay Austin Award for Outstanding Horticulture Activites, First Place; Horticulture Youth Award, First Place; Garden Therapy Youth Award, First Place; Birds Youth Award, Second Place; Environmental Concerns Youth Award, Second Place; Deep South Horticulture Award, First Place; and Deep South Landscape Design Award, First Place and Overall Winner.
