Greenville Renaissance Scholars (GRS) is gearing up to host their summer camp program for all 6th-9th graders.
The summer camp is scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday June 6 to July 1. During the summer camp, scholars will receive enrichment in areas of reading, STEM and leadership and in the afternoon, they will rotate to art, music and dance clubs. There will also be field trips on Fridays.
An application is required to participate and are due by Monday, May 30.
Application packets can be downloaded from the website, gvillescholars.org, and must be completed and turned in by mail at 323 S. Main St.; email at samesa.hoskins@gmail.com, or in person at their office located in E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center.
If accepted, students will receive an invitation to Camp Orientation on June 4. The total camp fee is $100 and is due by orientation day. Scholarships are also available.
All Greenville Renaissance Scholars staff are professionally qualified and/or certified.
“In June 2022, we will be launching our inaugural summer camp program. Camp Renaissance 2022: Our Story and Future of the Mississippi Delta is aligned with our mission to inspire, motivate, and prepare students to succeed,” GRS executive director Samesa Hoskins said. “We prepare them for a college track through academic enrichment, college planning, leadership training, arts programming, and community experiences. We empower our Scholars to dream, think and act big.”
