The Greenville High School boys basketball team got back on the winning track Tuesday night with a 64-46 home victory over Germantown High School.
The victory snapped a four game losing streak by the Hornets and moved them to 1-1 in district play.
Senior Morgan Green led the Hornets with 24 points, while senior Justin Wright scored 14 points for Greenville.
The Hornets (6-10) blew the game open in the fourth quarter when they outscored the Mavericks 23-14.
“If I had to give a game ball away, I would give a ball to everyone,” Greenville High School head coach Delmar Sprouse said. “We did not play well in the first half, but in the second half we really started to play team ball.”
Sprouse praised the shooting Wright, who made three of his five three-point attempts in the game.
“He is really starting to shoot the ball well,” Coach Sprouse said.
Junior Jequann Roberson finished the game with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Sophomore Aaron Davenport scored nine points for the Hornets. Junior Dekobe Lewis secured six rebounds, and Ced’Kevious Hobbs finished with four rebounds.
The Hornets will look to win their second straight win when they travel to South Panola Friday night.
