GUNNISON, Mississippi - Funeral Services for James Payne, 65, of Gunnison, who died on July 5, 2025, will be on July 18, at 11 a.m. at St. James in Gunnison with the Rev. James Walker officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on July 17 at Byas Funeral Home Cleveland. Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery in Gunnison.
He had three daughters, Loretta, Regina, and Lashaena Wilson; two brothers, Robert Earl Wilson and Lee Donald Thomas; one sister, Surkinna Thomas, and nine grandchildren.
