Two Greenville men have been sentenced to prison following their convictions for drug and gun related offenses.
According to court documents, the federal gun and drug charges arose out of a March 22, 2020, incident\ wherein Lakendrick Motton and Antoine Jackson were seen selling illegal narcotics from the parking lot of Lucky’s Store in Greenville, Mississippi.
Motton, 27, was sentenced on Friday, Dec. 16, by U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock to 60 months in prison for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. Motton will serve a three-year term of supervision upon his release from prison.
According to court documents, Antoine Jackson, 33, was sentenced on Nov. 1, 2022, by Judge Aycock to 78 months in prison for conspiracy to possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute and for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Upon release from prison, Jackson will also be placed on supervision for a period of three years.
U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner of the Northern District of Mississippi and Greenville Police Chief Marcus Turner announced the sentences for Jackson and Motton.
This case was investigated by the Greenville Police Department and Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Mims prosecuted the case.

In other crime news, Greenville police have arrested another man for drug-related offenses.
At 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, officers with the Greenville Police Department performed a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Highway 1 South with a blue Nissan Altima that displayed an expired tag of September 2021. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 41-year-old Edward Phillips, of Greenville. After further investigation on the traffic stop, it was discovered that Phillips was in possession of a felony amount of Marijuana, along with Schedule II Oxycodone.
Phillips also had an outstanding warrant for the City of Greenville. Edward Phillips was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent, Trafficking in Controlled Substance (Schedule II Oxycodone 89 Dosage Units), Contempt of Court and other traffic violations.
Phillips was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility, where he sits on a $50,000 bond.
