The final results from Tuesday’s mid-term election are still being tabulated, said the Washington County Election Commission.
Unofficial results were reported for the two local school board elections.
For the Leland School Board District 3 seat, out of 272 votes, 140 have been cast for Brandon Taylor; and 132 for Eddie Johnson.
For the uncontested Western Line School Board District 2 seat, out of 319 votes, 315 were cast for Larry Franklin Sr. and four write-ins.
There was one contested election for the 2nd congressional district between incumbent Democrat Bennie Thompson and Republican Brian Flowers.
Out of six judicial elections, only two were contested.
In the non-partisan election for Chancery Court District 9-2, Renia D. Anderson faced Debra M. Giles. In the race for Washington County Court Judge, Tonya P. Franklin faced Vernita King Johnson. Bennie Richard for Chancery District 9-1, Margaret Carey-McCray for Circuit Court District 4-2, Carol White Richard for Circuit Court District 4-3 and Ashley Hines for Circuit Court District 4-4 were unopposed.
