Continuing in their efforts to meet the demand for affordable, quality nutrition in Washington County are MARS Food along with Molina Healthcare of Mississippi, Kroger Delta Division and the Mississippi Food Network.
These entities have once again collaborated to host a mobile food pantry drive-thru event beginning 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Washington County Convention Center, 1040 S. Raceway Road.
The distribution of fresh and frozen produce and proteins to Greenville and surrounding-area residents will go on until supplies run out.
The event is free and open to the public.
Resources will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Attendees are required to remain in their vehicles, wear a mask when their doors or windows are opened, and follow direction from on-site staff.
MARS’ Food Community Engagement Officer Kyla Washington stated the August installment of the mobile food pantry — the first of the series — was the first of many efforts as this coalition works to expand Delta region supply and accessibility of healthy foods and to educate residents on forming healthy eating habits.
Gemma Bristow, Mars Food GRV Factory Director, said, “We believe that everyone should have access to the nutritious meals we all deserve and this distribution is one way to provide just that.”
