Many times, the greater good is achieved through great joint effort and local businesses in Greenville are proving that to be true.
Beginning 9 a.m. Thursday at the Washington County Convention Center, Mars Food, Molina Healthcare, and the Kroger Delta Division will host their first Mobile Food Pantry.
Food distribution will begin at 11 a.m. and continue while supplies last.
The Mississippi Food Network will distribute fresh and frozen produce and proteins to Greenville and surrounding-area residents six times over a six-month period.
Thursday’s event will mark the first of the installment of the Mobile Food Pantry distribution series.
MARS’ Food Community Engagement Officer Kyla Washington stated that this event will be the first of many efforts as this coalition works to expand Delta region supply and accessibility of healthy foods and to educate residents on forming healthy eating habits.
“As ever, we are very excited to host our first Mobile Food Pantry along with Molina Healthcare, Kroger Delta Division, and the Mississippi Food Network,” said Gemma Bristow, Mars Food GRV Factory Director. “We believe that everyone should have access to the nutritious meals we all deserve and this distribution is one way to provide just that.”
