There were many former Washington School General baseball players who shined at the First Annual Washington School Alumni Baseball Game on Saturday, but no General’s star shined brighter than Austin Kelly’s.
Kelly, who now plays for the Lipscomb University in Nashville, hit a pair of home runs in his team’s 10-9 victory. Kelly also hit eight home runs in the home run derby, which preceded the game.
Washington School head baseball coach Hunter Palasini said he hopes Saturday’s game will be the first of many each year. Proceeds from the game went towards the Washington School baseball team.
“The game was a lot of fun, and it gave us a chance to bring some of our alumni back to our campus,” Palasini said.
Along with Kelly, other former players who participated in the event included Chase Palasini, Blake Palasini, Tyler Morgan, Jake Reed, Eric Brozovich, Robert Mortimer, Will Thaggard, Eli Fratesi.
