The Deer Creek School football team came back from a 22-0 deficit to have a chance in the final moments in its MAIS Class 1A first round playoff game, but, in the end, it turned out to be too big of a hill to climb as the Warriors fell on the road to Tensas (La.) 34-32.
Deer Creek forced a Tensas fumble in the endzone on the game’s final play to score a touchdown. But, the Warriors failed to convert the two-point conversion and Tensas escaped with a two-point victory,
Clayton Kilgore, Bo Ray and Brayden Smith scored touchdowns for Deer Creek, which finished the season with a 4-6 record.
