Washington School’s Mary Glenn Hooker’s years of hard work at the game of basketball paid off with a great milestone last Thursday as she scored her 1,000 career point for the Lady Generals varsity basketball team against Indianola Academy. The Lady Generals won the game 46-13, and Mary Glenn, the only senior on the team, scored 21 points in the game.
“Mary Glenn is such a great player because she has a great work ethic,” Washington School coach Yvette McPherson said. “We shot well in our victory over Indianola, and we didn’t turn the ball over a lot.”
Coach McPherson added that the strength of her team this year will be her team’s ability to shoot well from the outside and “our posts can shoot well also.”
“All of my starters will have to contribute for us to be successful this year. Avery Doolittle, Ella McNemar, Allie Bennett and Aubrey Jones.
