The O’Bannon High School football team played perhaps its most complete game of the season Friday night in their 20-8 road victory over Marks Palmer.
Sparked by two touchdowns by senior Jordan Clark and another score by sophomore Derrion Dillard, the Greenwaves (2-3) jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead.
The O’Bannon defense, meanwhile, was solid all night and gave Marks Palmer (2-3) problems the entire game. Senior Anthony Brooks and Dillard both recorded three sacks for the Greenwaves.
“I have really high standards so I think we should be 4-1 right now, but it was good to see the kids bounce back after our loss to Hollandale last week,” O’Bannon coach Lynn Lang said. “Our defense stepped up for us and that was the big key to the game.”
Lang and his Waves will look to keep their momentum next week when they travel to Leflore County for their first district game of the week.
