After picking up a victory Thursday and two victories Saturday, the Riverside High School baseball team, under head coach Boo Ellis, is now a perfect 5-0 this season.
The Bulldogs were scheduled to host district tival Leland on Tuesday.
Thursday, Feb . 23
Riverside 7, Clarksdale 3
Jason Irion was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs in this game. Irion pitched five innings, gave up 0 runs and just one hit while striking out seven Clarksdale batters.
Abraham Ramirez pitched two innings for Riverside in relief. At the plate, Ramirez had a single and a double. Cody Polson had two singles, Braxton Toten had a single and Alex Chamblee had a single.
Saturday, Feb. 25
Riverside 8, Greenville High 3
Jason Irion picked up another win on the mound for the Bulldogs, pitching five innings with eight strike outs. Braxton Toten struck out two batters in one inning of relief.
Tyler Williams had two singles and an RBI in the game, and Cody Polson had a single and an RBI.
Saturday, Feb. 25
Riverside 8, Indianola Academy 2
Riverside’s Lucas Sims was the winning pitcher in this Bulldog victory. Simps pitched four innings, struck out five batters, while allowing just one earned run. Alex Chamblee had two singles for Riverside, Abraham Ramirez had a single. Lucas Sims had an RBI and Jason Irion had two RBI.
