AVON — In their 50-6 home victory over McAdams Friday night, the Riverside High School football team won its third straight game in their most convincing victory of the season.
Seven different Bulldogs (3-2) scored touchdowns in the game which Riverside led 24-0 at the end of the first quarter. Rushing touchdowns were scored by sophomore Kamareon Henderson, freshman DJ Gatson, sophomore Jayden Moore, senior AB Ramirez and freshman Jaleel Moore.
Riverside junior Kyle Lewis also caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jayden Moore, and CJ Hampton returned a interception for a touchdown from 66 yards out.
McAdams dropped to 1-4 after the loss.
The Riverside Bulldogs, who won won just one game last season, are seeing their confidence grow after each game.
Said Riverside head coach Will Rodgers, “We played a full game of intensity. The team is starting to unlock its potential. We have a talented group of players and they showed it Friday night.”
The Bulldogs (3-2) will play their first district game of the season when they host Leflore County (3-2) Friday night.
“This should be a really good game. Leflore County is a talented team with a lot of speed, but we are a talented team with a lot of speed too.”
