St. Joseph Catholic School baseball coach Paul Hughes recognized the talent of Greg Fore when Greg was only eight years old.
“I remember watching him play the infield in rec ball, and there was just something about him. He had a lot of talent even at that young age. I knew he was going to turn into quite a baseball player,” Coach Hughes said.
The coach’s prediction turned out to be right. On Friday, Fore signed a baseball scholarship with Coahoma County Community College. Fore, a second baseman, said he plans to play at Coahoma County for two years, and then, hopefully, play at the Division 1 level. He said he is considering architecture as a career
“I chose Coahoma because it is close to home. I am excited to be playing baseball at the next level but I am going to miss all my teachers and teammates at St. Joseph. This place is a family.”
Fore has been a multi-sport athlete at St. Joseph for many years, excelling at baseball, football and soccer. But, baseball has always been his first love having been a starter on the varsity team since the eighth grader.
“I love baseball the most. It’s my passion.”
