St. Joseph Catholic School’s Ma’Leah Morris signed a scholarship on Thursday to play basketball at East Mississippi Community College.
Surrounded by family members and Fighting Irish teammates, Morris signed the scholarship in the library of the high school. Morris will play shooting guard for the Lions and plans to major in English.
“When I stepped on the college, it felt like home,” she said of her decision. “It is a great opportunity and my goal is to keep improving at the game.”
St. Joseph coach Kwinta Green said East Mississippi is getting not just a great basketball player but also a team leader.
“She is a leader and her team follows in her footsteps. She is a humble and is very coachable. She is willing to get better and is always improving.
