Washington School’s 46-6 home loss to Indianola Academy on Friday night was not without some positive signs for the Generals.
With many of his veteran players out with injuries, like quarterback Fred Nailor, Washington coach Greg Wallace had to rely on many of his younger players.
Perhaps, the biggest impression made on Coach Wallace was the play of freshman quarterback Prentiss Doolittle who came in the second half and led the Generals (1-4, 0-3 in District 1-5A) on their only scoring drive in the game.
Young Generals Ty Signa (wide receiver) and JD Bennett (seven tackles) also played well in the game, Wallace said.
Wallace also complimented many of his veteran players, like Briggs Staples, Dallas Poole and Tylan Sherdon, on never giving up.
The Generals will play at Magnolia Heights next Friday.
