Marsha Morphis Barenis, 72, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away on February 11, 2026. She was born on April 17, 1953, in Greenville, Mississippi, to parents Marshall Ray Morphis and Helen Sumrall Morphis. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Katherine Morphis Adams. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Barenis and Amy Barenis.
Marsha spent most of her life in Greenville and graduated from Delta State University with a degree in Music Education. She taught piano and co-owned Barenis Music Company for many years. Her sweet, vibrant spirit made her a fixture in the musical community. Later, she retired to Florida to be near family.
Most notably, Marsha was a loving mother to her daughters, valuing time with them most of all. She always kept her special-needs daughter, Amy, by her side, ensuring Amy's happiness above all else.
Marsha will always be remembered for her loving and giving nature, and for making the world a brighter, more beautiful place.
A private memorial will be held.
