The weather was foggy and warm at Lake Ferguson on Feb. 27 which turned out to be a great day of fishing for Mike Jordan and Cliff Payne who won the MRAA Winter Trail Bass Tournament. Jordan and Payne caught four bass weighing in at 19.25 pounds, while Johnathan Sulton and Colby Sulton came in second with 18.26 lbs.
Twenty-six boats competed in the tournament, which was another good turnout for the MRAA 2020/21 Winter Tournament The tournament lunker of 6.96 pounds was caught by Taylor Hutson who was fishing with his dad Mac. Thanks everyone for fishing.
Since this was the last tournament for the MRAA 20/21 Winter Trail, the Anglers Of the Year (AOY), the points race was decided. This season saw the widest margin on winning of any trail that I’ve ever directed. Johnathan and Colby Sultan ran away with the points race this year, winning by a whopping 63.54 points.
The next tournament will be the first MRAA 2021 Summer Trail Tournament. It’ll again will be on Lake Ferguson on April 3. Anglers will launch from the City Front Ramp at safe light and fish till 2:00 p.m. with a 4 fish limit.
