The St. Joseph Catholic School baseball team celebrated senior night in style with a 7-6 extra inning victory over Porter’s Chapel on Tuesday night.
Senior Simar Thomas drove in Greg Fore for the the game-winning hit in the bottom in the bottom of the ninth inning.
St. Joe’s C. J. Moore had a triple and four RBI in the victory, and Jordan Jennings had two hits and an RBI.
Fore, Elvis Scott and AJ McCloud each also had a hit.
Thomas struck out eight batters in 6 and 2/3 innings. Moore picked up the win and only allowed one hit in 2 1/3 innings.
St. Joseph’s pushed its record to 9-2 overall and 5-2 in district 4-2A with the victory.
The seniors on this year’s team are Scott, Thomas, Kaleb Lockett and McCloud.
