Halloween is right around the corner, but kiddos can get a head start on collecting treats.
From 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, a Trunk or Treat event will be held at Harty Park.
The “Magical Party Bus and Candy Giveaway” is a free community event sponsored by Mills Academy founder Airnecia Mills and Magical Party Bus, LLC owner, Samiayah Britton-Sorrell.
Children in attendance will be given school supplies and treats.
In an effort to make the event fun and enjoyable for kids, organizers of the event encourage the wearing of costumes and/or masks to be in compliance with CDC guidelines for COVID-19.
Britton-Sorrell said she wanted to express to parents as much as possible that the event is for children.
“The pandemic has taken enough away from them this year, so when we decided to collaborate on this, we wanted the kids to still do something fun, but also safe and in compliance with CDC guidelines for COVID-19,” she said. “Just come expecting a fun time.”
Britton-Sorrell added that although it will be “quick little deal,” there will be quite a few treats in store for those children who attend.
To find out more information about the event, individuals can email themagicalpartybus@gmail.com or MillsAcademy1@gmail.com and also visit themagicalpartybus.com.
