Greenville Police are investigating the death of a man who was found shot in a vehicle this week.
At about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, officers of the Greenville Police Department responded to a shot person call in the block of 300 block of West Alexander Street, according to assistant police chief Michael Merchant.
“Upon arrival, they located a white male inside a running gray Toyota,” Merchant said.
The victim, who was identified as 20-year-old Dallas Cantrell, appeared to have been shot.
The Washington County Coroner and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene, where Cantrell was pronounced deceased on scene.
Investigators are actively following up on leads at this time, Merchant said.
