GREENVILLE, Mississippi - Myra Ann McDaniel went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 4, 2026. She passed peacefully at the home of her oldest daughter, Cindy and husband, Rick Baker of Bentonville, Arkansas.
She was born January 22, 1938 to Wiley Thomas Swilley and Myra Jane Dickson Swilley of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tommy Swilley and husband, Harlon McDaniel. Myra is survived by her three children, daughter Cindy Baker (Rick) of Bentonville, Arkansas, daughter Karen Hollingsworth of Greenville, son, Timmy Bennett (Kelley) of Vicksburg, stepson Timmy McDaniel, Greenville, and stepdaughters Renee and Tammie. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Mandy, Richard, Audrey, Amy, Lee, Tanner and Stone. She has six great-grandchildren, Madison, Shelby, Hannah, Parker, Audree and Avery. She has four great-grandchildren as well, Jack, Mallory, Daniel and Eli.
She was a member of Riverport Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for years. Many summers, she taught Vacation Bible School as well. Myra loved the Lord and spread His love to others.
A few of Myra's favorite pastimes included playing the piano by ear, writing poetry, thrift shopping, canvas painting and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed feeding and watching the songbirds in her yard.
Over her career, Myra had several employers, including Greenville Shipbuilding, Nicholson File and B&B Sign Company. She performed various office administrative duties. Those who worked with her always found her to be a blessing! Myra was loved by all and will greatly be missed. Her happy heart and fun spirit will forever live on.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dennis Green will be officiating and interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Leland.
