The Nation's Weather for Thursday, October 12, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Late tomorrow into the nighttime hours, severe thunderstorms
are expected to develop as a powerful storm pushes eastward
across the central Plains and into the Midwest. Storms may
produce damaging wind gusts, large hail and even some
tornadoes within a zone extending from southeastern Nebraska
into portions of Missouri, reaching as far south as
northeastern Oklahoma. West of there, a broad zone will have
the potential for snow as colder air rushes in, including
much of Wyoming and the higher terrain of northern Colorado.
The South and the West Coast will be mainly dry as well with
high pressure in place, but as a disturbance tracks eastward
off the Southeast coastline, heavy rain and embedded thunder
will continue to bring the potential for flooding in Georgia
and northern Florida.
